What is the percentage of people who partake in those sports move into, have friends move into, or parents are already in the legal professions?
How does that compare with social circles within football containing top or influential legal/political bods?
With contacts in the right places, you can keep anything quiet, even the fact that there is something that needs to be kept quiet (Clifford & Epstien anyone?).

Based on nothing but my prejudice against the class system I have to say those popular public school sports of cricket and rugby union are noticeable by their absence.

It said " Over 300 alleged suspects were identified and 332 clubs were named."
Let's hope, as they say, appropriate and sufficient measures are now put in place.

Jesus that was a tough watch.... not sure if i missread it or not but at the end credits did it say that there had been accusations made against over 300 football clubs?
So gymnastics and football out in the open... what sport next?

So Matt LeTissier held his hand up and admitted he was given some sort of naked massage by Bob Higgins. Whereas Shearer who was reportedly “ very close to Bob Higgins “ says he never experienced anything untoward. Hmmm .....

Was extremely tough viewing but credit to these guys for speaking out which can't be easy, especially when people didn't listen and stupid Jury's didn't do their job. When that guy said the sentence was 15 months for what was done to him it's obvious more change is needed. These paedophiles need to rot for life. As for Charles Hughes, notwithstanding his dinosaur kick and rush policies, how did this guy ever get on the board at the FA?!

The FA not covering themselves in glory with their reaction ... coming across like the Catholic church.
I suspect several people at the FA have got their own dark secrets.
Child molestation once proven, should be a death penalty offence.

Tough viewing that
Particularly when Walters said he told his old man who basically just stared at him and then nothing more was said about it. What a cunt his old man is

I fully accept that, but only the upper - or ruling classes are in a position to do anything about it.
Look at the way they hung those poor girls in Rotherham out to dry. Placate race relations my fucking aunt! Bone for the dogs, that.
The investigation was clearly given a line it must not cross under any circumstances. Didn't they get through about a dozen chair-people before they found one that would take orders and produce a report that ticked the correct boxes?

This sort of thing will always be about But you'd hope with the checks and the fact that people talk about it more will mean its reduced. I guess clubs also have less of these situations like Bennell & the Southampton bloke where one person seemed to have unrestricted control over a bunch of boys means it is less likely.
The FA not covering themselves in glory with their reaction ... coming across like the Catholic church. Third & final episode is on at 10.45pm tonight

About a week ago I got an email from the FA saying I was due some refresher training on safeguarding. Guessing anyone with coaching badges was made to do this as some kind of tick box exercise.
They do all the background checks these days so you’d hope the problems are historical. Is it still going on?

Mike, fucking children isn't an exclusive upper class activity, despite what people would like to think.
It's everywhere and it's classless.

Maybe governments are to busy with covering up similar events within their own peer groups to spend any time investigating?
It certainly needs much more than just "alerting people to the signs".

Just watched part one.
I remember it kicking off but I had no idea as to the extent of it. Incredibly brave of the first bloke to go public.
Why haven't governments funded in depth research into why a paedophile is a paedophile? Is it conditioning, a misfiring of the brain, a renegade chromosome - or is it another sexuality, horror of the thought?
Until we answer those questions we can't begin to solve the problem.
